Sales Insurance Advisor
Role Purpose
Support overall company performance by meeting personal targets and objectives through the delivery of first-class insurance service to potential new customers. This will involve responding to customer enquiries, making a positive and proactive contribution to operation of the Sales Department, supporting the team culture and customer-focussed ethic by exhibiting professionalism, enthusiasm, and insurance expertise in every activity.
Core Responsibilities
- Actively support and contribute towards the achievement of departmental sales forecasts, targets, and plans in line with the budgets set for the business.
- Take ownership of individual performance and achieve personal targets set by the Sales Management Team through proactively seeking to maximise business opportunities with potential new customers. Targets may include Outbound Calls, Promotion of Premium Finance, New Business, Cross-Selling, and Quality/Compliance of service provided.
- Using standard rates to provide customers with accurate and timely quote premiums.
- Provide customers with information about insurance cover options and arrange insurance cover for customers as appropriate.
- Collect insurance premiums and process accounts.
- Ensure any credit offered is within agreed Company limits
- In accordance with the FCA Code of Ethics and Treating Customer Fairly policy, maintain high standards of professionalism and reflect a positive Company image in all dealings with external stakeholders and clients.
- Input accurate and confidential data onto the Company’s database.
- Operate strictly within agreed Company procedures to ensure high and consistent levels of customer satisfaction. Become fully conversant with the Company’s complaints procedures and abide by them.
- Under the supervision of Seniors and Managers, develop and maintain appropriate levels of skill and competence within all relevant areas. Successfully complete e-learning on ‘Broker Assess’ and pass module tests as instructed by Management team.
- Proactively undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activity, to ensure insurance product and policy knowledge remains valid and current. Take ownership for self-development and CPD; ensure that annual objective set by Management team and targets are achieved.
- Demonstrate a professional and collegial attitude towards all colleagues in Trade Direct and across the Kelliher Insurance Group. Contribute towards a positive working environment and demonstrate a team-centred work ethic.

Role
- To act at all times within the FCA ‘Principles for Business’ and to comply with all regulatory requirements in respect to: Treating Customers Fairly, Data Protection, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Money Laundering and undertake mandatory compliance training as required
- To support the firm’s Board and Approved Persons with Significant Influence Functions in ensuring a culture of compliance and competency at all levels within the organisation. To report any matters of concern through the appropriate channels
- To actively contribute towards and participate in the firm’s Annual Performance Appraisal process. Identify and agree goals and objectives for personal development on a yearly basis, and participate in the quarterly review process
- Undertake proactive ‘Continuous Professional Development’ activity to maintain the requisite competency levels required by the regulator. Ensure knowledge, skills and abilities remain appropriate to prevailing professional standards
- To understand and observe at all times the firm’s Health & Safety policy and procedures. To cooperate and participate with other team members in ensuring that Health & Safety standards are met and maintained
- To adhere to internal departmental and divisional processes and procedures
Person Specification
The job holder is expected to have at least one year’s experience in a similar role with demonstrable success in an insurance or call centre environment.
Previous insurance experience is not essential but would be preferred. No specific qualifications are required; however, a high standard of competency and ability is essential in each of the knowledge and skills criteria.

- Credit management and Third Party financing arrangements and procedures
- The Data Protection Act 1998
- Requirements of money laundering legislation
- The Law of Agency
- The Equality Act 2012 and The Bribery Act 2010
- The general functions of all other areas of the Company and how these relate to this role
- The operation of the Company’s IT system, including procedures, authority limits and audit trails
